Summer Vibes

Hey There, Campers!
I hope your unofficial start to summer is going well. I enjoyed some time away camping on a barrier island in the panhandle of Florida. It was a good weekend—much needed…
Anyway, here we are, almost two months out from the launch of Dead Station. The book has performed well, been well-received, and continues to sell. It is interesting how vulnerable that process feels when you release something creative into the world. I struggle with negative reviews. I know it is not everyone’s cup of tea, but those can feel so harsh at times. Almost without fail, every time I receive a not-so-warm review, I fixate on it and think the world will crumble to the ground. Then, I get a few good reviews and think the world is okay. It does not make logical sense, but it is what it is.
On another note, the Audible version of Dead Station is almost ready. Anthony Aiello and his wife, Laurie, are hard at work, and the goal is to have it out in a couple of weeks. Anthony and Laurie also did the Audible version of VEHO: A BACKSTORY, and it came out really well. I have listened to a few sneak peeks from it, and I am delighted with what I have heard.
Also, I have over twelve thousand words in the follow-up sequel to Dead Station. It picks up just days after the first book ends. So far, it has been flowing well. It's a bit slow, but I am not an everyday writer. I have a day job, and writing is something I enjoy doing on the side. My typical process is to lay down a few thousand words throughout a weekend and some evenings during the week. My goal is to release it later this year. I will keep you updated. With everything I learned from Dead Station, I can improve my process and become more efficient.
I hope as you get into your summer, you get some time to enjoy it. “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around every once in a while, you could miss it.” - Ferris Bueller.
Find a good book to read and try to relax a bit.
